György Ligeti

I studied composition at the Hamburg University of Music from 1986 until 1989 when Ligeti retired.

To celebrate the centenary of György Ligeti’s birth, the book “György Ligeti im Spiegel seiner Hamburger Kompositionsklasse” (“Ligeti through a glass, and darkly, but face to face”) written by students of Ligeti was published in May 2023..

Taking this opportunity, we plan to hold lectures and concerts once a year from 2023 until 2026 – 20 years after Ligeti’s death.

In 2024, the event will be held on Sunday, September 15th.

We will also be providing updates on lectures and concerts as they become

 available.About the lectures and concerts
